The third annual Peace at the River Festival was held Saturday, October 8, 2016 at the Carlsbad Beach
band shell. Hosted by Carlsbad Mennonite Church, it featured Mike Martin of Colorado Springs, CO.,
who founded RAWtools, a non-profit organization. He reforged a hand-gun into a garden tool during
the festival. Several local persons spoke about area organizations that work to reduce violence in our
community. Soloists and a few musical groups were featured at intervals during the program.
